Weekly Feature | Lady and the Lens Photography

Hi Mama's!!! This week we have Christine from Lady and the Lens Photography joining us. We are so lucky to have her - especially she filled in as our guest last minute! She has picked the theme {out of the home} of this weeks theme and we can't wait to see what you all come up with!

Let's get to know our amazing guest even better!

Tell us three things about you, unrelated to photography. I'm a HUGE tomboy- when I was in high school, I had 3 Giant African Black Millipedes as pets.  Instead of getting my drivers license at 16- I got my PADI Scuba Diving license. I currently have 3 pet hens who I love dearly- Momma, Simba, and Hazel

Describe your work in three words. Messy, Real, Honest

When did your photography journey begin? After my wedding! I LOVED my wedding photographer and followed her work closely. I was a bit stalker-ish but I sent her a few messages letting her know that I loved her work and that if she ever needed help, I'd be willing to help her out. Sure enough, one day about a year later she called. I had never shot with professional equipment at the time, nor in manual but she was very patient and willing to teach me. I've been an associate photographer for her since- and here we are 6 years later! I love second shooting for weddings.

Name a photographer who inspires you? Hands down Stephanie Von Gries Kelley of Stephanie Kelley Photography. I LOVE her warm lifestyle work. Aside from her amazing talent for photography- She inspires me in so many other ways. She makes me want to be a better person! She is always kind and crafty and wears her heart on her sleeve. We need more people like her in this world.

What is your best advice you would give yourself if you could go back to the beginning? SHOOT FOR YOURSELF. Shoot what and how you want, what makes YOU happy. Don't worry about others. Don't worry about 'likes' or numbers. Be happy with what you create, and be passionate about it. Learn the rules, but don't be afraid to break them- sometimes those are the most captivating photos. There is such beauty in the everyday- Don't over look it.

Don't forget to submit your {out of the home} shots and have a wonderful rest of the week!

XOXO, Allison and the Mamas
