Weekly Feature | Tiffany Kelly Photography

Do you have a photographer that you follow and admire and you just all When you see their work in your newsfeed, featured or just about everywhere - you don't even need to see the photo credit - you instantly know who took the photo?  That is Tiffany, from Tiffany Kelly Photography for me. (Allison) Not only have I seen her work just about everywhere lately (she is totally killing it) but she is incredibly supportive, kind and a wealth of knowledge. Like I said, I am such a fan of her. Did you know she is getting ready to launch a new breakout at Clickin Moms? Entitled - Up Close and Personal : Artistically Capturing the Details and Emotion of Everyday - it looks like it will be incredible and we can't wait for its release. Check out all of the details here.  I would definitely go by Tiffany's page - not only to check out here incredible work - but she is also giving away a seat to the upcoming workshop!

This week she chose the theme {details} and we are so glad she is here to lend her hand and expertise on the subject. So without further ado - let's get to know Tiffany better...

Describe your work in three words.
Details, movement, emotion.

If you were going to venture into a genre you currently don't photograph, what would it be and why?
I would LOVE to try fresh 48 sessions. There is just something so amazing about those first few days with a brand new baby. But as a mom, I feel like it passes by in a haze. I would love to document that time for growing families, but I need to wait until my own children are a little older so I have more flexibility with my time.

When did your photography journey begin?
When I became a mom, for sure. I had my first daughter Abbie in 2011 and I suddenly needed to document all those fleeting moments as I watched my baby grow up before my eyes. I also dropped out of my psychology PhD program and quit my job at a research institute in 2012 to be a stay-at-home-mom, and I needed a way to use my brain. The thing that's so amazing about photography is that it's really technical but it's also completely creative. It gave me an artistic outlet and gave me something challenging to teach myself. It was the perfect balance for me.

Give us a photography related goal you hope to accomplish?
I would absolutely love to mentor other photographers. My heart and my path is really in teaching and inspiring others.

What is your favorite piece of gear you own, or what are you lusting after?
This is a tough question… picking my favorite lens is kinda like choosing my favorite child! But right now it's my Sigma 35 art. It is definitely the sharpest lens I own. I love that the minimum focus distance is really close. I am always talking while photographing kids, and they are always getting closer to me. I like that with the 35 I can still get those shots even when my kids or my clients are all up close to me.
I am lusting after a Fuji mirrorless camera. I would love something small that I can just throw in my bag when out and about with my kiddos.

Keep your {details} images coming in and have a great week, Mama's!!!

XOXO, Allison and the Mama's
