{Spotlight on:} Jessica Byrum

WOW! The From Above theme has been incredible already! We can't believe the amount of images you all are posting this week! INCREDIBLE! We are so honored to have the sweet Jessica Byrum of Jessica Byrum Photography and Design judging this week. And she picked a phenomenal of a theme!
Here is a little glimpse into Jessica's photography life. We hope you enjoy getting to know her and these beautiful images!
1. When did your photography journey begin?
My photographic journey started in 2010 when I got a "fancy" point & shoot camera and thought I was amazing. Turns out the camera just took really nice pictures. I got my first DSLR (Canon T3i) in 2011 and again thought I was amazing. My TRUE photographic journey just began in August of 2014 when I stopped booking clients and forced myself to learn manual mode on my new camera (Canon 60d).
2. Name a photographer that inspires you. What draws you to their work?
I am inspired by so many photographers! My Facebook is so over-run with photography pages, that I hardly see when my friends post (which is okay..they're so dramatic). I don't know that I can pick just one that I am drawn to. I am part of an AMAZING lifestyle group (In The Now) that is full of photographers, professional and hobbyist, that I admire and am drawn to every day. I love the real, honest moments they capture and the atmosphere that this group creates for sharing and learning is just wonderful.
3. Canon or Nikon?
I have always had a Canon. I love the smooth, creamy photos my camera/lenses produce. But, the photographer that takes my family photos, she shoots I can't say anything bad about them either, because she makes us look so good!
4. Give us a photography related goal you hope to accomplish within a year.
My photography related goal for the year is to save my pennies so that I can finally go full frame!
5. What program do you use to edit your images? Tell us why you love [or if you don't].
I was strictly Lightroom, until I started shooting in manual. When I made myself learn manual, I also made myself learn Photoshop. I love makes those little tweaks so easy! And PS allows me to add my final touches, and be creative when I want to go outside of the box.
Isn't she incredible? We think so too! So, be sure to come over to her page and check out her work and show her some love! And keep submitting your images for the {from above} theme. We are loving looking through your images! It is going to be a tough week for Jessica to judge!
Have a great rest of the week!
