{Spotlight On:} Tiffany Mae Photography

Hey, Mamas!

We are having such a great week here at The Snappy Mama!  We reached 1,600 likes this week- all thanks to YOU and your wonderful submissions!    Thank you so much for keeping this page so positive, encouraging, and fun for us mom togs.

SUPER excited to introduce you all to this week's guest, Tiffany Mae Photography!  I am a huge fan of her work and I'm sure after you land on this post, you'll see EXACTLY why!  We had a few questions for Tiffany this week- enjoy!

When did your photography journey begin?

I started my photography journey in February 2011. It was only partially intentional. I really just wanted to take better pictures of my son and was frustrated with the results from a point and shoot or cell phone. We had an old Olympus DSLR lying around, so I picked it up and found the Amateur Photography group on Babycenter. From there, it turned into such a deep passion and amazing creative outlet. I hope to be doing photography in some form or fashion for the rest of my life!

Name a photographer who inspires you. What draws you to their work?

I tend to like photographers who don't shoot like me. That probably sounds weird, but I'm so inspired by looking at the world through the eyes of someone else. I love seeing a different point of view, and it's a constant challenge to me to keep changing, trying new things, and growing. Two photographers who immediately come to mind are Kristen Cook and Gabe McClintock. The way they see the world is utterly inspiring and fascinating. Anytime I search them out, I can't stop looking and I feel this intense desire to go take some more pictures!

Canon or Nikon?

Nikon! :) I have the D800. Love her <3

Give us a photography related goal you hope to accomplish within a year.

This is hard. As a mom of three kids all 4 and under, it's difficult for me to *do* a whole lot with my photography. I guess my constant goal is to always keep learning. Always keep growing. To be able to look back at every shoot and find something I could have done better. There's still so much for me to learn, so much beauty in the world to see and capture, so much growth to be had. So I guess my goal this year, and always, is to never stop.

What program do you use to edit your images? Tell us quickly why you love it.

I use Lightroom for 95% of my editing. I love the depth of color and exposure that can be achieved in there, as well as how streamlined the program is versus Photoshop. I do still use Photoshop for advanced techniques that can't be accomplished in Lightroom.

Are you SO in love?!   Meeeeee too!   Plus, we're equally in love w/ your {Surroudings} shares so far...she definitely has her work cut out for her!  Be sure to stop by her Facebook page and show some love!

Have a great rest of your week, mamas... we'll be back soon!
xoxo,
Jess
