{Spotlight On:} RUBYLEE PHOTOGRAPHY

Hi everyone!

I hope this Wednesday finds you well. This week's theme is a great one that it found me looking for quotes about the word online. Here is one I found that I liked a lot especially in these cold days we are faced with.

For the man sound of body and serene of mind there is no such thing as bad weather; every day has its beauty, and storms which whip the blood do but make it pulse more vigorously.
~George Gissing

We are thrilled to have Sahsha of Rubylee Photography as our guest judge this week. And her theme of {Serene} is such a wonderful one. We asked her a few questions to get to know her better. Here are her answers and some of her amazing images.

When did your photography journey begin?
My photography journey began in my middle school years with my very first camera- one of those long slender ones! And ever since my first camera I've barely ever gone without some sort of camera nearby. After starting our family I of course couldn't get enough cute little pictures of the kids growing which has since grown my love of capturing fleeting moments.

Name a photographer who inspires you. What draws you to their work?
I have so many photographers who inspire me- but one that has always caught my eye in his authenticity and raw black and white photos is Alain Laboile - if you've never seen his work you must go now!

Canon or Nikon?
I love my Nikon! I honestly didn't research long and hard for when I chose which I would use- as there are many pros/cons to all cameras and I just found Nikon to be a good fit for me for now :)

Give us a photography goal you hope to accomplish within a year.
One photography goal I would love to accomplish this year would be to get more lifestyle in home sessions done! And I'm super excited that it seems I may finally have a couple folks who are "getting it" with seeing my vision for capturing them in their memories and with their surroundings coming up soon! yay! I've also started a 365 but honestly as much as I shoot pretty much every day it's hard for me to decide which picture to use and after chasing after my 4 littles (and 1 on the way soon!) I don't always have a chance to process through the pictures for days... so it's been quite a challenge already- eek!!!

What program do you use to edit your image? Tell us why you love it.
I use LR 5 for most of my editing as I am able to easily save presets and apply to different lighting situations to keep my work consistent.. I do have CC with PS6 but honestly hardly open it- I really should use it more!

Pretty amazing, huh? Yeah we think so too! Be sure to head over to her page and show her some love! We are so grateful to have her judging this week and with a great theme that gets you thinking.

Have a great rest of the week! We look forward to seeing a peek into your lives through your images!
